Create Targeted Workforce Training

Prioritize Postsecondary Preparedness and Connectivity

This component is at the heart of our "Rural Ready" program. Many rural economies are shifting from traditional industries to manufacturing and technology. The initiative develops and delivers specialized IT and cybersecurity training programs tailored to the needs of rural industries such as agriculture technology, advanced manufacturing, and remote work.

Needs Assessment: We collaborate with local chambers of commerce and rural employers to identify the most in-demand technical skills.

Curriculum Development: We adapt our existing Cisco and CompTIA curricula to include agricultural sensor networks, supply chain cybersecurity, and remote IT support.

Program Delivery: We offer both in-person and online training to accommodate the unique geographic challenges of rural areas.

Prioritize Postsecondary Preparedness and Connectivity

Building on our existing K-12 and Higher Education Initiatives, this component creates a clear path from high school to a high-skill career for rural students.

Rural Youth Apprenticeship Program: We have established a "Rural Ready" Youth Apprenticeship program that allows high school students to earn industry certifications and gain hands-on experience with local businesses. This program is a direct pipeline to the adult apprenticeship programs.

Partnerships with Rural Community Colleges: We forge partnerships with rural community colleges to create seamless credit transfers and stackable credentials, allowing students to earn a degree while working in a registered apprenticeship.

Digital Skills for All: We integrate digital literacy and career exploration workshops into the program to help students and their families understand the value of a tech-focused career.

Stand Up New Partnerships and Invest in Anchor Institutions

Anchor Institution Partnerships: Be Prepare America partners with key local institutions like hospitals, colleges, and local governments to provide workforce training for their employees or to hire graduates from the "Rural Ready" program.

Entrepreneurship Hubs: We collaborate with local libraries or community centers to establish "Rural Ready Hubs." These hubs serves as physical locations for training, mentorship, and a co-working space for local tech entrepreneurs.

Rural-Specific Partnerships: We actively seek partnerships with agricultural cooperatives, rural electric companies, and other anchor institutions that are vital to the rural economy.

Emergency Preparedness as a Digital Literacy Tools
